People

People are interesting.  Especially in relationships.  In my own relationships, romantic that is, I’ve never quite been able to make it to the altar.  I know I’m professional and independent and unwavering in my core values, as we all should be, but throughout life and through a number of relationships I’ve noticed how the men I’ve been with never seem to be interested in growing beyond a certain point…like they’ve hit a ceiling or something.  I don’t know that I’ve ever met a man who has an unlimited ceiling or no ceiling to growth and thirst for exploring new stuff.  I’m sure this goes for women too as I don’t mean to isolate only the male gender on this.  And yes, I do know women for whom little growth or no growth suits them just fine.  These are obviously not my closest friends. ha!  But trying to be in a close relationship with someone who “stops” is interesting.  It’s kind-of over at that point since one person wants to keep moving and the other just stops.  huh!  I’ve always wondered too why finding people with the eternal youthfulness no matter what age, and this open-ended desire to grow is so darn difficult.  We’re all at different levels of development in our life journey but on the other hand, there are gazillions of people on the earth.  Just a very interesting quest, finding people like yourself who just want to grow and move forward and live forever!  I’d love to live in a colony of people like this.  O well, I guess the search for people like yourself is what makes life’s journey interesting.  Kind of like people-watching at Nantasket Beach…now THAT’S interesting!
