Regarding the supposed end of the Earth on Saturday, May 21…I can’t stand this!  It makes religion look foolish.  This is right up there with somebody seeing the face of Jesus on a half-eaten toasted cheese sandwich.  I’ve been Christian forever!  The Bible is the Bible.  It’s made up of stories, metaphors, parables, etc.  No one really knows what any of the authors of the Bible meant.  But we try our best to figure it out so we can live a good life and love and respect our neighbor as ourselves.  But no one can know how or when the Earth will end.  Religion/spirituality isn’t some computer program.  It’s not easy being a Christian.  People like these Rapture-ites make it look like “we’d better be good cuz’ Santa Claus is comin’ to town.”  If only life WERE that easy.  These people have such a narrow-minded vision of what God is.  It’s a tough road being a good person but we pursue it.  And the last thing any good Christian should be doing is trying to figure out when the world will end.  Figure out a good life!  The Earth will end when it’s good and ready.  And we will probably be long gone anyway.
